Usov Lab Releases Synchromat 3.
New Tool Makes Two-Way Synchronization Brainlessly Simple.
Synchromat 3.0, as the name suggests, is an automatic synchronization
utility for PCs. The major advantage of the program is that it
automatically performs true two-way synchronization. This is what
it means.
Most synchronization utilities work in the following fashion - they
take one source (folder, disk, CD, USB drive, etc.), compare it with
another source and then "synchronize" them - make target folder
identical to source folder. This often means that the target folder
will lose unique data if it's not present in the source.
Synchromat 3.0 is different. It takes any number of sources, for
example four different folders, finds the differences in each and
performs two-way synchronization, so that all these four sources will
contain the same data and no changes are lost. To do this the program
utilizes a unique file comparison algorithm with a metadata file.
Additionally, the algorithm does not depend on the PC clock (system
time). This prevents data loss when the older file erroneously replaces
a newer one due to wrong date/time settings and also makes correct
propagation of file deletion possible.
Synchromat 3.0 is especially handy when working with removable storage
media - USB drives, flash drives, removable hard drives, MP3 players,
digital cameras, etc. The program also allows users to update or backup
files over LAN or the Internet.
Synchromat 3.0 is distributed electronically over the Internet; free
evaluation version is available at http://Synchromat.com. It costs
$22.22 to register, $10 instant rebate is available for second copy.
