Earlier this year, Microsoft was pleased and excited to announce
that it will be the Official Technology Partner of the Melbourne 2006
Commonwealth Games.
To celebrate their involvement with the Games and to share their
excitement Microsoft will be running a competition that they would like
to run in conjunction with your Unlimited Potential centre. The theme
of their competition is 'Realising Potential Through Sports'.
The competition will:
- Be open to your existing members and also to new members who
register with your club. It will not, however, be open to general
members of the public
- To enter the competition, your members will need to use their
imagination and creativity to submit a multimedia presentation that is
reflective of the theme 'Realising Potential Through Sports'.
- Entrants will be able to use the materials provided in the
Unlimited Potential centres, to create a presentation using either
MicrosoftR Photo Story 3, MicrosoftR Movie Maker or MicrosoftR Acrylic
or MicrosoftR PowerPoint.
For example, this might involve creating a "photo story" of how you,
your friends or family are realising potential through participation in
sport. Alternatively, your entry might depict how your life is enriched
by participating, watching or being a fan of sport through a digital
movie. Entries must be no longer than three minutes in length and no
bigger than 6MB in size.
The competition will officially open on 16 November 2005 and will close on 27 January 2006. Entries will need to be submitted online at www.Microsoft.com/Australia/up/competition. [The link isn't working yet]
This competition will give your members a chance to show off the skills
they have learnt by attending the UP centre and give them an
opportunity to win a grand prize of a trip for two to Melbourne to
attend the Commonwealth Games in March, 2006. The prize winners will
also receive overnight hotel accommodation, two tickets to the Games
and $300 spending money. Additionally, Microsoft will also be giving
away 10 Xbox consoles as consolation prizes.
