March Monthly Meeting
The 'Main Monthly Meeting' is back!
Wednesday 7th March, 2007 -- 7.30pm
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR WINDOWS PCS with Mike Boesen.
Mike will give a presentation about essential, desirable and
optional preventative maintenance that he regards as being needed to
keep a Windows PC in a healthy condition. The presentation will be
geared to the needs of PC users of all levels, ranging from beginners
to technically advanced. The coverage will be broad, including basic
hardware maintenance, preventing and detecting intrusion of malware,
maintaining Windows system files and applications in good condition,
preventing and fixing unauthorised modification of startup applications
and implementation of a backup and recovery strategy. While the focus
will be on non-networked, stand-alone desktop PCs with an XP operating
system, the content will also be relevant to networked PCs, those with
other Windows operating systems, and laptops.

This meeting has been arranged to as a trial by the PCUG Main Monthly
Meeting sub-committee, and other PCUG
members, with appreciation. Feedback will be welcomed from
attendees.
