Hi folk:
I noted
Peter Hodge's find called Wintasks Pro.
Looks nice.
A program
that does a number of the key things that Winfast
Pro seems to be capable of doing is the one that Baille
McKenny used to find out about the owner of his
mysterious dialog boxes
SysInternal's "Process
Explorer".
And unlike Winfast Pro, it's
freeware. Available from:

Amongst
other things, it will show what executables are loaded and what processes
are running, associated DLLs, allows you to kill executables and processes,
etc.
The
creators give this additional geekspeak info
about it:
"Ever
wondered which program has a particular file or directory open? Now you can
find out. Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and
DLL processes have opened or loaded. The Process Explorer display consists
of two sub-windows. The top window always shows a list of the currently
active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the
information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that Process
Explorer is in: if it is in handle mode you’ll see the handles that the
process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL
mode you’ll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the process has
loaded.
Process
Explorer also has a powerful search capability that will quickly show you
which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded. "

For example, one very
useful utility which I always have running is TCPView,
which enables me to see what processes on my PC are communicating over the
Internet - very useful if there is internet activity and you don't know why.
