A USE FOR A PENTIUM 100 with Rod Peters
Many people will have a discarded PC of the Pentium 100 class. Free software can be used to convert these into a hardware Firewall/Router having up-to-date security. This is particularly useful to dial-up users, who have few options for deploying a hardware Firewall or sharing an Internet connection. The combination comfortably handles the bandwidth of a 1 Mb TransACT link. PCUG member Rod Peters will demonstrate the procedure.
and
BASIC PC SECURITY with Terry Bibo
Terry's presentation will cover Spyware Blaster and Spybot Search & Destroy.
This is the last Main Monthly Meeting for 2006.
For future meetings, the PCUG Committee are assessing the viability of alternate venues.
