I am standing for general committee member as part of the Like-Minded Souls Team.
I have been working with computers since my university days in the early 1970s
and as a computer professional since 1986. Up until last year I was a
private consultant. I now work for a managed gateway company as a security
engineer.
I have been a member of the PCUG since 1985.
I have been active in volunteering for much of the time I have been with the PCUG. In the late 1980s and early 1990s I wrote articles on Unix for 16 Bits. In the late 1990s I decided to join the committee as part of a team put together by Ann Greiner. I was president in 2001-2 and stayed on the committee until last year.
I am a founding administrator of TIP and have been a member of the IPMC (the
predecessor of the ISSC) for much of the life of TIP.
My focus as a member of the 2004-5 committee will be the management and
forward planning of Internet services and working to increase the membership
of the PCUG.
